Dear friends,
I know I am not alone when I say that there have been times in my life where I have hated things about my body. I will be the first to admit that I even become intimated by others when I feel bad about my own body. Having a negative body image (thinking parts of you are yucky) contributes heavily to your own self-esteem. When you experience low self-worth it can put you in a cycle of not taking care of your self. I find that I tend to eat poorly, have a bad attitude, defiantly don’t want to work out, or even get off my couch for that matter! Together with my friends at “Together Beautiful” (an amazing uplifting blog) we would like to present a few blog posts about self-image. Weather you need to get back in to the swing of things again, make lasting life changes (surgery on your thoughts I like to call it), or just want to get on the road to feeling better about yourselves this little series if for you!
In health,
P.S. I hope that you all take part in Heart For Health’s month-long contest “Bikini or Board Short Ready and Loving Food!” Continue posting fabulous recipes in MAY!! Good food is good for the body, heart, and soul!! Not to mention our crazy cool PRIZES for the recipe with the most “LIKES”!!
Here is A little Teaser/Intro: “Implications of Body Hatred” the Series:
Hello to all the lovely healthy people out there! My name is Ashley Warneking and I blog for Together Beautiful.
My blog talks about loving yourself for who you were created to be. It addresses those “tough to talk about” issues such as self-esteem, eating disorders, and just plain wrong thinking about ourselves. Tara Arnold has asked me to put together a little something of what I want to talk about next with everyone.
This month of May I have been thinking a lot about health, and how to not only eat healthy, but THINK healthy. Diets have been a struggle for me; I have been a professional dieter since the age of 12, trying everything from the Atkins diet, South Beach diet, all the way to the extreme HCG diet. I have “yo-yo-ed” up and down and somehow always end up in the same place and that is staring down at my jeans unable to get up past my thighs and wondering “how did I get here again?”. I feel that there is more than meets the eye here, and I want to explore the spiritual implications of body hatred and getting to a place where you just love yourself, no matter your weight-and learning how to eat in order to be healthy and not just for the pure sake of diet.
If this is you, and you want to explore the spiritual side of health than I encourage you to check out me and my friend’s blog www.togetherbeautiful.tumblr.com where the next couple weeks will talk about struggles and healthy solutions for loving yourself and getting on track with your spiritual and physical health.
Heart for Health is hosting this amazing healthy recipe contest and I am so excited to explore “fun, healthy, waist-line happy” food with you all and see all the amazing health tips the lovely ladies of Heart for Health put up to keep our bodies healthy and strong.
Here’s to Healthy Thinking and Eating,
Ashley Warneking
